Thank You to our Hometown Heroes, our Plumbers

Ricky Pattillo • Sep 02, 2020
As we celebrate Labor Day this month, we’d like to say thank you to all of our plumbers at Plumb Works, and also all the other plumbers in the world. It is your hard work that keeps our communities safe and healthy. A properly functioning plumbing system is a key component to our daily lives, and many people take their plumbing for granted until something breaks and leaves you with a mess.

Plumbing companies work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year serving homeowners and businesses, and today we want to thank our plumbers for their hard work and dedication. These men and women are true examples of superheroes. Learn a little more below about becoming a plumber, and add any plumbers you know to your list of Hometown Heroes this year.

Plumbers are Essential To The Community

When you think of essential employees, you may first think of doctors, firefighters, police officers, truck drivers and bankers. But what about plumbers? Plumbers are a critical part of the community and for many reasons. Water leaks and clogged drains can lead to foul smells and dangerous mold. Anything that deals with sewage needs to be handled properly, and hot water is critical for washing and bathing.

Most of the time, plumbing systems work fine, but if you’ve owned a home or business for long enough, you’ve come to “expect the unexpected.” And who do you call when you have a plumbing emergency? A plumber. While many companies shut down during the 2020 pandemic, plumbers worked continuously, providing plumbing services as needed. Plumbers are essential every day of the year, and even work “on-call” holidays for when emergencies arise.

A Career in Plumbing Equals Job Security

If you’re looking for job security, becoming a plumber is the way to go. Many high school graduates rush to college to get a bachelor’s degree to enter into a competitive job market only to work years to pay off their student loans. On the flip side, learning a trade guarantees you get into the job market faster, without the large student debt. Everyone who has a home or business needs a plumber, and trade skills are in high demand. Knowing a valuable trade, such as plumbing is a great choice if you’re ready to start working and earning your own money.

How To Become a Plumber

If you’re interested in becoming a plumber, the best place to start is with a plumbing apprenticeship program. Many plumbing companies, including Plumb Works, offer classroom and hands-on, field experience to provide the training you’ll need to become a professional, licensed plumber. You’ll learn the basics of plumbing and will work with other professionals to gain the knowledge and experience you need to succeed in the industry. At Plumb Works, we ensure all employees undergo extensive training so we can maintain our reputation and dedication to excellence for our customers. Our goal is to always provide the best service possible, and we are proud to have received nearly 500 5-star reviews on Google!
