Jerome Sabol on WSB’s Radio Show

Plumb Works owner Jerome Sabol returns to WSB’s radio show "Lenz on Business" with host Jon Waterhouse. An award-winning owner of one of Atlanta’s leading plumbing companies, Sabol shares his business strategies and industry insights on the July 10 episode of the weekly business talk show.

Sabol discusses an array of topics, including the benefits of new technology in the plumbing industry that allows homeowners to manage their plumbing systems remotely through an app. Additionally, many of the new products can act as water meters and give a monthly water usage report.

“With newer technology, there are devices available that will automatically shut the water off if it senses a leak when the homeowner is not there,” says Sabol. “It can also tell you your water usage for that month in case you do get a high water bill and are disagreeing with the municipality. You can use that as a report to show them how much you've used.”

Later in the program, Sabol explains how many companies such as his have been facing several challenges, including inflation, labor shortages, and equipment shortages. He reveals tactics he has implemented to help Plumb Works navigate through these unprecedented times.

“Everyone that I know has put a big emphasis on training,” Sabol shared. “Even maybe companies that haven't done so in the past, they know that is the way these days. It is a long-term commitment like going to college. It takes some years to become a professional at your craft.”

Sabol explains the idea behind annual service agreements, strategies he uses to retain his customer base, and much more. Listen to the show to learn more about how Jerome Sabol continues to successfully lead Plumb Works.

Nothing puts the cold chill on the festive holiday season like a frozen or burst pipe. Frozen pipes are bad enough, but when they burst, the problem worsens and can easily lead to flood damage requiring costly repairs. This all-too-common occurrence affects an estimated 250,000 homes in America each year. And Georgia may be a hot bed for frozen pipes. According to a State Farm report released in 2023, Georgia topped the list of frozen pipe-related losses at $100 million (from August 2002-August 2023.) Plumb Works remains your go-to source for frozen or burst pipe calls in our service area. However, there are some simple tips you can apply to protect pipes in cold weather and help avoid a house call. Before the thermometer dips below freezing – that’s 32 degrees Fahrenheit – do the following:
