Celebrating Eric Ponder’s 20 Years with Plumb Works: A Personal Message of Gratitude

I still remember the day Eric came in for his interview—by all accounts, it went well. Eric often tells the story of what happened afterward: as he walked out to his car, he ran into one of our technicians and asked what he thought of Plumb Works. The tech told him he’d been with the company for five years and that it was a solid place to work. That simple conversation helped confirm for Eric that he was making the right decision. Twenty years later, I can confidently say that we’re the lucky ones.
Eric was looking for a company that shared his values, and over the years, he has proven time and again that he embodies the very principles we stand for. I always tell people that Eric is not just a great mechanic—he’s someone we can count on to do the job right. He thrives on the challenge of solving tough plumbing problems, and he brings a calm, thoughtful approach to every situation.
I regularly encourage our apprentices to learn from Eric—his depth of knowledge and ability to handle virtually any job are invaluable. Of course, Eric doesn’t like hearing that. He’s not one to promote himself or seek recognition. He prefers to let his work speak for itself, and it certainly does.
Eric is also known for the way he treats our customers—with patience, honesty, and professionalism. Time and again, we receive glowing feedback like:
