Plumb Works owner, Jerome Sabol, discusses winter business strategy and future company goals on WSB’s Radio’s “Lenz on Business”

December 5, 2023

The holidays are here, and the new year is quickly approaching. Plumb Works owner, Jerome Sabol made a return appearance on the November 19 episode of WSB’s radio show “Lenz on Business” to discuss the company’s new year goals, winter business strategy, and much more.

From an apprentice to the owner of Plumb Works, Jerome’s 25-year journey taught him the intricacies of the company and the significance of collaboration in achieving success. With 10 to 12 trucks serving customers in intown Atlanta, the company prioritizes efficiency, particularly in minimizing travel time from client to client.

“As Atlanta has grown over the last 20 to 30 years, we’ve designated areas to different employees to avoid unnecessary travel,” explained Jerome. “Our goal is to help customers solve their plumbing problems as quickly as possible.”

Managing commercial plumbing, which often involves larger complexes and different maintenance needs, requires flexibility. Jerome emphasized the company’s commitment to working around clients’ operating hours.

“We recently worked at a senior living home and a restaurant,” said Jeromel. “Both clients couldn’t shut down their plumbing during the day, so our crew worked from midnight to 8 or 9 in the morning. We understand our clients have their own customer base to consider, so we are more than willing to make adjustments to meet their needs.”

Despite not having a previous business background, Jerome steers Plumb Works to success through networking, industry trend awareness, and financial advice. During the interview, he explained how the company utilizes a third-party financial advisor for diverse perspectives on business decisions.

Jerome also discussed a variety of other topics, including Plumb Works’ winter preparations and the rising popularity of water filters. In step with the season, Jeromone explained how giving back is integral to the company’s culture, with annual donations to local charities, some of which are chosen by employees.

“Community engagement is essential to the company,” said Jerome. “It brings our team together and gives us a sense of fulfillment, too.”

Nothing puts the cold chill on the festive holiday season like a frozen or burst pipe. Frozen pipes are bad enough, but when they burst, the problem worsens and can easily lead to flood damage requiring costly repairs. This all-too-common occurrence affects an estimated 250,000 homes in America each year. And Georgia may be a hot bed for frozen pipes. According to a State Farm report released in 2023, Georgia topped the list of frozen pipe-related losses at $100 million (from August 2002-August 2023.) Plumb Works remains your go-to source for frozen or burst pipe calls in our service area. However, there are some simple tips you can apply to protect pipes in cold weather and help avoid a house call. Before the thermometer dips below freezing – that’s 32 degrees Fahrenheit – do the following:
