Plumb Works owner, Jerome Sabol, made a return to WSB’s radio show “Atlanta Living” with host Belinda Skelton. Throughout the September 23 episode, he discussed water heaters, smart water valves and much more.
Jerome urged listeners to inspect their water heaters before winter and provided information on how to recognize when a replacement may be necessary. He suggested that listeners replace their water heaters every 10 years.
“Sometimes when they are really old, you get sediment build up inside the water heater. This causes your water to become brown or a little colored,” said Jerome.
With new technology, homeowners can take proactive measures to prevent water damage by using smart water valves. Jerome shared how smart water valves can perform tasks like shutting off water, detecting leaks, and monitoring for problems.
It’s important to note, as Jerome explained, that turning off your water valve doesn’t cause long-term harm.
“You should be able to turn the water back on without having a problem. It is normal for every once in a while to have dirty water come through,” said Jerome. “Just run your sink for a minute and then it should be back to normal.”
To close the show, Jerome answered listeners’ questions about water pipe issues, garbage disposal maintenance.
